Moonlit Missive #87: Beyond the Streamlets

by In Gowan Ring

Moonlit Missives exclusive
1.
Beyond the streamlets to the hills Beyond moss coated stones Vapors gather, assembled to the craggy throne Where higher mosses grow untrod Provisioned by the air Mists come thick and thin in wisps And tendrils curling there The world what could it mean to me... ...The world, what would it mean? Vacant whiteness closes in upon my helpless view I can not see beyond my throne Nor even to my shoe A root blunt I’ve collected there Involves my contemplation The root blunt I’m inspecting here Would easy be companion The world what could it mean to me... ...The world, what would it mean? In wriggled structures and crooked lines It gathers around its own Forms that grew in knobbies through The hard resistant ground How not unlike these gnarled roots Severed at both ends By circumstance inscrutable Are my soul’s tangled bends. Some parts smooth and showing grooves Some plated in bark skin By chink and cranny Sparkly shards of stone embedded in How not unlike these gnarled roots Severed at both ends By circumstance inscrutable Are my soul’s tangled bends Murmurs vague fluctuate, flourish far and near Fraught with light, indefinite Twine tangles creeping queer Beyond the streamlets to the hills Beyond moss coated stones Vapors gather, assembled to the craggy throne The world what could it mean to me... ...The world, what would it mean?
