New Day, Big Sun

I awoke in the early morning
By the light of the yellow moon
Eastward way I was walking
As the owl called the tune
Crystals hung on the grass lightly
And the mountain in my view
In the valley fog was gathering
As the frost clung to my shoe
Under foot crisp leaves and branches
And the mountain drawing near
I see the herald of a new sun
As the sky begins to clear
New Day, Big Sun
Clear Way, Bright Dawn
On the road I met young travelers
Bright with the light of love
In their hearts a song was singing
Like the cooing of a dove
The talk was all of something stirring
Like a child being born
Like the four winds gathering
Like the calm before the storm
New Day, Big Sun
Clear Way, Bright Dawn
And the light comes blazing
To surround the whole earth wide
As the sun comes arising
Like the rising of a tide
And this light is not ours only
But to all the world belong
Free like the moon and the starts in the sky
Free like the singing of a song
New Day, Big Sun
Clear Way, Bright Dawn
