Meet This Way

lyrics

Meet me, whitest feather-blossom;
Deeper, bluest moonlit snow
Fallen on the path between
The ocean and the wellspring’s flow

Here the starry night so floods
The winter-mirror of your eye
The face that seeks to greet me blurs
Hands steal forward, lips sigh

Meet this way by misted sky
Silent lightning, fingers twine
Each turned to the other’s cry
Sounding in the seashore snowflake shrine

Longing for the blood-warm tongue
That knows all secret names.
A heart of wisdom ever sung
In subtle shining blue-white flames

Feathers, petals, snowflakes rise
And fall to flight in ceaseless air
Their message in the living water
Stolen fire alone can bear

Meet this way by misted sky
Silent lightning, fingers twine
Each turned to the other’s cry
Sounding in the seashore snowflake shrine
