The Calling

from Moonlit Missive #54 by In Gowan Ring

Moonlit Missives exclusive

lyrics

Wand, you woken water-seeking
Spiral-tendril arrow-track
Of leafy feathers, slowly leaking
Tears that will me strongly back
Uphill toward a beacon shining
Bright as ever full moon rose
My low-lorn eyes, live dripping lines of
Longing for the source that glows

Deep within the single wellspring
We are born and find return—
Then bring it here to me through telling
Traces of the words that burn
The dreaming heart and mind to ashes
Tears alone revivify,
Sea-waves caught where lightning flashes
Crack a heavy-lidded sky

So soon words will grow and flourish,
Nested in a highland tree
Blossoming fruit and bird-dream murmurs.
Croon there, chosen word for me.
Wand, you woken water-seeking
Spiral-tendril, arrow-track
Of leafy feathers, slowly leaking
Tears that will me strongly back
